🎼 Putnam City Schools was well represented at the Circle the State with Song Festival this year! Out of 300 students, 154 were from 13 different Putnam City elementary and middle schools. We are so proud of all of these talented students and the dedicated teachers who have been working on their choral pieces for months! 🎤

🔬 Future scientists from Putnam City Schools visited the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) for Junior Scientist Day! #PCStudentSuccess: 🎨When Creativity Meets The Classroom, Magic Happens✨️ Art was the main lesson today with our little Kirland Elementary Pirates! Learning through art has proven to be a successful way to enhace life-long skills that are learned early on. Art particularly helps students a few ways. It shows how to think outside the box to grasp abstract concepts, improves focus and patience, and even helps to increase expression of their thoughts and feelings.

Some of the fun activities included discovering how the Constitution was created, drafting their own versions, and even signing a replica of the established document with their own names! Today, our students are embracing the world with a little more pride. 🌟

🗽 Hefner Middle School Student To Be Featured In Times Square! 🎬 We recently learned how an amazing Hefner Middle School 8th grader, Treymane Rollins, will soon be featured on the big screens of Times Square in New York City! Rollins was selected from nearly 3000 entries in the National Down Syndrome Society's worldwide call for photos! The video will play in Times Square and be streamed worldwide to kick off the New York City Buddy Walk this Saturday. Based on these photos, we can see why he was selected! Looking good, Tremayne! 😎

#OnTheRoadWithRhodes 📍Visiting Our Schools One Stop at a Time with Dr. Rhodes at the Wheel 🚙 Superintendent Dr. Rhodes ventures every week to visit our schools, see the action, talk to students and teachers, and participate in fun activities that he finds along the way. Today, we road along on his trip to visit the Lake Park Lions, Western Oaks Elementary and Middle School Warriors, Central Cubs, and the PC Aviation Academy. Kids will truly say the best things, including one today asking Dr. Rhodes, "Are you the President?" 🤓

🚔 Protecting and Serving Putnam City 🚓 Putnam City Campus Police Officer Parker Mauk, Officer Davon Spencer, and Officer Jake Bradley have graduated from the State of Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training Basic Police Officer 16-week Academy in Ada, OK! We are thankful for their commitment to our students, staff, and PC Community.

🇺🇸 Stars, Stripes, and School Spirit! 🎇 The Putnam City Schools Campus Police Department and Putnam City West High School JROTC proudly marched in the Bethany Boom Independence Day Parade, showing off our patriotic pride and community spirit!

🚜 Moving Dirt for the New PC Centennial Center 🚜 Another School Bond project is underway with the construction on the PC Centennial Center officially beginning. The PC Centennial Center will be the home of a new community park, outdoor amphitheater, fine arts auditorium, meeting halls, School Board room, and administrative offices. We look forward to keeping up with the updates and, of course, the opening in a couple of years! 🛠️

🚌 Congratulations are in order for two from our Transportation Department! Huge shout out to Shelly Armstrong and Zachary Wouters for being distinguished as Nationally Certified Supervisors of Pupil Transportation through the National Association of Pupil Transportation. There are only three Nationally Certified Supervisors in the State of Oklahoma and two of them are right here in Putnam City Schools!
