Dear Viking Family,

My name is Holly McNutt. I am excited and honored to serve the Putnam City district as principal of Hefner Middle School. Over the past 22 years I have worked as a teacher and administrator in public education. I’ve always held the belief that all students can be successful when provided a positive environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth. I believe every student has gifts to share and it is our responsibility to discover and encourage them to reach their highest potential.

At Hefner Middle School we are a team of dedicated educators committed to providing students with a challenging educational program. It is our goal to provide an engaging and rewarding learning experience for all students. We believe with our knowledge, dedication, and skills partnered with parental involvement and support our students will be successful in the 21st century.

Hefner offers an outstanding visual arts program, a variety of music programs, a range of athletic opportunities, and many different clubs and organizations. We encourage all students to become involved in extracurricular activities. We believe in the importance of students being connected to the school through positive relationships, a sense of community, and participation in extra-curricular activities.

To help your student be successful in middle school, we encourage all parents to stay involved and continue to play an active role in your child’s education. Please make sure you have access to the parent portal and check our website often for current events. We look forward to working with our parents to accomplish great things at Hefner Middle School.

Sincerely,

Holly McNutt
